Antea offers a service of data extraction and cataloguing through a procedure named Alef. Alef can be very usefull in the presence of hundreds of P&I from which the customer wish to extract the mentioned tags separated by type (equipment, lines, PSV, etc…) and use the outcoming lists to transer them to databases of packages as SAP, Maximo, Inspection Manager and other.

Alef operates as follow:

1. Extract from each CAD P&I (Autocad .dwg files) texts, block attributes and their position
2. Catalogue the extracted elements following rules given by the customer;
3. Give to user the possibility to verify and correct extract data;
4. Export corrections to  starting .dwg files;
5. Create lists of data in standard format to be tranferred to other software environments.
   

The result is the collection, cataloguing and tranfer to software environments of thousands of tags, a task that would be an enormous  waste of time if done manually.
